Experience a new sensation with this incredibly smooth pudding! A simple mix and chill process creates a perfect harmony between the silky pudding and the sweet and savory mitarashi glaze. Made with minimal ingredients and in a short amount of time, you can enjoy an authentic taste effortlessly.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients (4 servings)
- Gelatin powder 5g
- Granulated sugar 40g
- Milk 300ml
- Egg 1
Seasonings
- [A] All-purpose Soy Sauce 1 tbsp
- [A] Granulated sugar 1 tsp
- [A] Potato Starch 1 tsp
- Toasted sesame seeds to taste
Steps
- In a heatproof bowl, combine 1 tbsp water and 5g gelatin powder. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to bloom.
- Add 40g granulated sugar and 200ml milk to the bloomed gelatin. Microwave on 600W for 1 minute 20 seconds, stirring to dissolve the gelatin and sugar.
- Add the remaining 100ml milk and 1 beaten egg to the dissolved mixture and stir well.
- Strain the combined mixture through a sieve.
- Pour the strained mixture into 4 pudding cups (100ml each).
- Chill the pudding cups in the refrigerator for 3 to 4 hours, or until set.
- In a heatproof container, combine [A] 1 tbsp all-purpose soy sauce, [A] 3 tbsp water, [A] 1 tsp granulated sugar, and [A] 1 tsp potato starch. Mix well. (Here's the tip!) If you don't have all-purpose soy sauce, refer to the substitution suggestions in the description box.
- Microwave the mixed mitarashi glaze ingredients on 600W for 1 minute. Stir a few times during heating to prevent lumps.
- Let the thickened mitarashi glaze cool to room temperature.
- Pour the cooled mitarashi glaze over the set pudding.
- Sprinkle a pinch of toasted sesame seeds in the center of the pudding over the glaze.
