Easy croissant biscuits made with hot cake mix and puff pastry. Enjoy a crispy texture with just 4 ingredients. Perfect for Christmas, snacks, or as a side dish. Lightly sweetened, so you can customize with syrup or jam.

Steps
- Soften one 18cm square sheet of puff pastry at room temperature for about 15 minutes.
- Preheat oven to 180℃ (350°F).
- In a bowl, combine 1 egg and 2 tbsp milk. Whisk together until well combined.
- Set aside 2 tbsp of the egg mixture in a small dish.
- Add 150g of hot cake mix to the remaining egg mixture in the bowl and mix until crumbly.
- Once crumbly, gather the mixture in the bowl and knead until smooth. (Key Tip!) If the dough is too dry, add a little of the reserved egg mixture to adjust.
- Lay a sheet of plastic wrap on a flat surface and place the rounded dough on top.
- Cover the dough with another sheet of plastic wrap and roll it out with a rolling pin into a square approximately 22cm (8.5 inches). (Key Tip!) After rolling horizontally and vertically, rolling diagonally will create a perfect square.
- Place the softened puff pastry sheet onto the dough and fold it into thirds. (Key Tip!) One fold is enough to create distinct layers.
- Cover with plastic wrap and press down firmly in the center of the dough, then spread it outwards. Roll with a rolling pin into a rectangle approximately 20cm x 28cm (8 inches x 11 inches).
- When rolling evenly, place the parts of the hot cake mix dough that are sparse on the inside, and the smooth, evenly spread surface on the outside.
- Divide the rolled dough into 3 equal strips vertically.
- Cut each strip diagonally and then divide each piece in half, for a total of 6 pieces.
- Roll each piece tightly starting from the thicker end and shape them into a croissant. (Key Tip!) Gently pull and stretch the beginning of the roll to create a beautiful shape.
- Arrange the shaped dough pieces on a baking sheet.
- Brush the reserved egg mixture onto the surface of the dough. (Key Tip!) Brushing with egg wash will give them a beautiful golden-brown color and appearance.
- Bake in the preheated oven at 180℃ (350°F) for about 15 minutes.
