  • [A] Olive Oil 1 tbsp (10g)
  • [B] Granulated Consommé 1/2 tsp
  • [B] Salt and Pepper (to taste)
  • [C] Olive Oil (for frying)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, add Bread Flour 150g.
  2. Make a well in one side of the flour and add Salt 2g, Sugar 10g, Instant Dry Yeast 2g, and Lukewarm Water 90g.
  3. Mix with chopsticks until the ingredients are crumbly.
  4. Add Olive Oil 1 tbsp (10g), gather the ingredients, and knead. (Key Tip! The dough is ready when it can be stretched to form a thin membrane).
  5. Shape into a ball, place it seam-side down in the bowl.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and let it undergo its first rise in a warm place for 1 hour. (Key Tip! The dough is ready when it has doubled in size).
  7. Peel and thinly slice Sweet Onion 1/2 (120g).
  8. Place the thinly sliced sweet onion in a microwave-safe container, cover with plastic wrap, and heat on 600W for 1.5 minutes.
  9. Pat dry the heated sweet onion with paper towels.
  10. Toss the sweet onion with Granulated Consommé 1/2 tsp and Salt and Pepper (to taste).
  11. Take out the risen dough and punch it down to remove air.
  12. Divide the dough into 6 equal portions and shape them into balls.
  13. Cover with plastic wrap and let them rest for 10 minutes.
  14. Lightly grease a frying pan with Olive Oil (for frying).
  15. Stretch each rested dough ball into an oval shape, about 15cm long and 13cm wide.
  16. Place the prepared sweet onion mixture in the center of the stretched dough.
  17. Top with Mixed Cheese 15g. (Key Tip! To ensure the edges seal properly, leave a 1-2cm border without filling).
  18. Fold the dough over the filling and firmly pinch the edges to seal.
  19. Shape the panini and place them in the lightly oiled frying pan.
  20. Heat over medium heat for 1 minute to warm up the pan.
  21. Once you hear sizzling, reduce heat to low, cover, and cook for 6 minutes.
  22. After 6 minutes, flip the panini. (Key Tip! Gently press down on the panini to flatten them as they puff up).
  23. Cook the other side for about 5-6 minutes until golden brown and crispy. Serve.
