This is our family's classic salad pork recipe, made incredibly easily in the microwave using pork loin provided by the US Meat Export Federation. It turns out moist, tender, and juicy, making it perfect for meal prep or as a base for other dishes. Enjoy it with the accompanying miso sauce.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (3-4 servings)

  • Pork Loin 500g

Seasonings

  • Salt 1 tsp
  • Black Pepper to taste
  • Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tbsp
  • [A] Miso 1 tbsp
  • [A] Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tbsp
  • [A] Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tbsp
  • [A] Sugar 1 tbsp
  • [A] Ground Sesame Seeds 1 tbsp

Steps

  1. Make several small punctures with a fork into the fat of the Pork Loin 500g.
  2. Rub Salt 1 tsp and Black Pepper to taste into the pork loin.
  3. Let it rest at room temperature for 30 minutes. [Key Tip!] Bringing to room temperature before cooking ensures a tender result.
  4. After resting for 30 minutes, pat dry any moisture released from the pork loin with a paper towel.
  5. Place the pork loin in a microwave-safe dish and drizzle with Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tbsp.
  6. Cover with plastic wrap and microwave on 200W for 9 minutes.
  7. After the initial heating, flip the pork loin and microwave again on 200W for 9 minutes. [Key Tip!] Adjust cooking time if it's not cooked through.
  8. Once heated, wrap the pork loin tightly with double-layered aluminum foil.
  9. Let it rest for 15 minutes, allowing residual heat to finish cooking.
  10. In a separate microwave-safe dish, combine Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tbsp, Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tbsp, and Sugar 1 tbsp. Microwave on 600W for 40 seconds.
  11. After heating, add Miso 1 tbsp and Ground Sesame Seeds 1 tbsp, and mix well.
  12. After the 15-minute rest, remove the aluminum foil and let the pork loin cool down slightly.
  13. Once cooled, thinly slice the pork loin.
  14. Arrange the thinly sliced microwave pork salad on a plate and serve with the prepared miso sauce. Enjoy!
