Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- King Oyster Mushrooms 1 pack
- Potato Starch 4 tbsp
- Vegetable Oil 5 tbsp
Seasonings
- [A] Soy Sauce 2 tsp
- [A] Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 2 tsp
- [A] Grated Garlic 1/2 tsp
- [A] Sugar 1/2 tsp
Steps
- In a bowl, combine Soy Sauce 2 tsp, Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 2 tsp, Grated Garlic 1/2 tsp, and Sugar 1/2 tsp, then mix well.
- Trim the tough ends of the King Oyster Mushrooms 1 pack and separate them into bite-sized pieces. For smaller mushrooms, keep them as they are. For larger mushrooms, tear them from the stem into manageable pieces.
- Add the separated king oyster mushrooms to the bowl with the seasonings from step 1 and toss well to coat evenly.
- Place Potato Starch 4 tbsp in a plastic bag and add the seasoned king oyster mushrooms.
- Close the bag, leaving some air inside, and shake to evenly coat the mushrooms with potato starch.
- Add a generous amount of Vegetable Oil 5 tbsp to a frying pan and heat over medium heat.
- Arrange the potato starch-coated king oyster mushrooms in the heated pan.
- Fry for about 2 minutes and 30 seconds to 3 minutes until the bottom is firm and golden brown.
- Carefully use chopsticks to find the gaps between the mushrooms and flip them over to fry the other side. (Key Tip!) Since the potato starch makes them stick, carefully separate and flip them with chopsticks.
- Once both sides are golden brown and cooked for a total of 5 to 6 minutes, remove from the pan.
- Plate the crispy fried king oyster mushrooms.
