The combination of fluffy, chewy dough with savory ham, cheese, and mayonnaise is simply irresistible. Ingredients

Main Ingredients (5 pieces)

  • Bread Flour 100g
  • Cake Flour 50g
  • Salt 2g
  • Sugar 10g
  • Instant Dry Yeast 2g
  • Lukewarm Water 100g
  • Butter 10g
  • Ham 5 slices
  • Canned Corn Kernels 20g
  • Pizza Cheese 30g
  • Dried Parsley A pinch

Seasonings

  • Mayonnaise (to taste)

Steps

  1. In a bowl, combine Bread Flour 100g and Cake Flour 50g. Make an indentation on one side.
  2. Add Salt 2g, Sugar 10g, Instant Dry Yeast 2g, and Lukewarm Water 100g into the indentation. Mix with chopsticks until just combined.
  3. Once partially mixed, gather the dough and knead on a flat surface using the heel of your hand for about 5-10 minutes.
  4. When the ingredients come together, incorporate Butter 10g and continue kneading. The key here is to knead until the dough can be stretched thin to form a membrane without tearing.
  5. Shape the dough into a ball, place it in the bowl with the seam side down, and cover with plastic wrap.
  6. Allow the dough to undergo its first rise in a warm place for 1 hour. If the room temperature is low, especially in winter, use your oven's proofing function. The dough is ready when it has doubled in size.
  7. Once the first rise is complete, turn the dough out onto a surface, punch down to release the gas, and divide it into 5 equal portions.
  8. Shape each portion into a ball, cover with plastic wrap, and let rest for 10 minutes.
  9. Roll out each rested dough ball into a circular shape of about 14cm in diameter.
  10. Leave about 1cm unadorned at the top edge of the rolled dough, then place one slice of Ham on the bottom half and roll it up. Seal the seam firmly.
  11. With the seam side facing inwards, fold the dough in half, leaving about 1cm unjoined at the tip.
  12. Press the unjoined tip (about 1cm) together to seal.
  13. Make a cut about 2cm from the tip, leaving the very end intact, and gently open the cut to form a heart shape.
  14. Arrange the shaped dough pieces on a baking sheet.
  15. Let the shaped dough undergo its second rise in an oven preheated to 40 degrees Celsius (104 degrees Fahrenheit) for about 30 minutes. The dough is ready when it has visibly increased in size.
  16. Preheat your oven to 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit).
  17. Sprinkle Canned Corn Kernels into the cut portion of the bread. You can omit the corn if unavailable, or substitute with finely chopped onions.
  18. After adding the corn, drizzle Mayonnaise evenly over the top.
  19. Sprinkle Pizza Cheese over the mayonnaise.
  20. Bake in the preheated oven at 180 degrees Celsius (350 degrees Fahrenheit) for 15-18 minutes.
  21. Once baked, sprinkle a pinch of Dried Parsley in the center.
