This is a recipe for 'Void Mixed Rice' that's easy to make without a knife. The flavor is set by Yamasa's 'Kore! Uma!! Tsuyu' and oyster sauce. Simply add fried tofu (aburaage) and eggs and cook. It's a superb and comforting dish that's easy to make even on days when you lack motivation.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Rice 2 go
  • Eggs 3
  • Fried tofu (aburaage) 1-2 sheets

Seasonings

  • [A] Kore! Uma!! Tsuyu 4 tbsp
  • [A] Oyster Sauce 1 tbsp
  • Green onion (scallion) to taste
  • Soy sauce to taste (for finishing)

Steps

  1. Put 2 go rice into the rice cooker pot and wash it about twice with water.
  2. Add Kore! Uma!! Tsuyu 4 tbsp and Oyster Sauce 1 tbsp to the rice cooker pot.
  3. Pour cold water up to the 2 go mark in the rice cooker pot.
  4. Place 1-2 sheets of fried tofu (aburaage) on a heat-resistant plate and heat in a 600W microwave for 40 seconds.
  5. Sandwich the heated fried tofu with a paper towel and thoroughly absorb any excess oil. 【Tip!】 Heating it in the microwave makes it easy to remove oil, making it healthier.
  6. Finely chop the oil-removed fried tofu with scissors.
  7. Add the chopped fried tofu to the rice cooker pot.
  8. Crack 3 eggs into the rice cooker pot. 【Tip!】 By cooking the eggs as they are, the rice cooker will prepare them like boiled eggs.
  9. Set the rice cooker and cook in regular rice mode (or mixed rice mode).
  10. Once cooked, break up the solidified eggs and mix everything well.
  11. Serve in a bowl, sprinkle with green onion to taste, and add soy sauce to taste if desired.
