An incredibly easy bread hack using just 3 ingredients, made in the toaster! With bread and mixed cheese, you'll get a "mock" cheese naan that's crispy on the outside and chewy, gooey, and melty on the inside. This is a time-saving and simple recipe perfect for breakfast or snacks, and it's budget-friendly.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 pieces)

  • Bread (6-slice thickness) 6 slices
  • Mixed Cheese 70g

Seasonings

  • Margarine (as needed)
  • Honey (optional)
  • Salt (optional)

Steps

  1. Trim off the crusts from 6 slices of bread.
  2. Place 3 slices of bread on a plate and microwave at 600W for 20 seconds.
  3. Stack 2 slices of the warmed bread, then press firmly with a rolling pin or chopsticks to stick them together.
  4. Cut the remaining 1 slice of bread in half and place it on top of the stacked bread, sticking it in place.
  5. Once the bread pieces are stuck together to form a square, lightly roll over it with a rolling pin to stretch the dough. [This is the key!] Warming makes the bread soft and easier to stick.
  6. Repeat steps 2-5 with the remaining 3 slices of bread to create another 10-11cm square dough piece.
  7. Place 70g of mixed cheese in the center of one bread dough piece.
  8. Stack the other bread dough piece on top, place a bowl with a diameter of about 10cm on top, and cut away the excess bread while pressing the edges together.
  9. Use a rolling pin or chopsticks on the cut edges to seal them firmly.
  10. Gently crumple aluminum foil to create wrinkles and prevent the bread from sticking.
  11. Spread margarine (as needed) in a circle on the foil, matching the size of the bread.
  12. Check for any tears in the dough and double the foil.
  13. Place the bread on this foil and spread margarine (as needed) on the surface of the bread.
  14. Bake in the toaster for 10 to 15 minutes.
  15. If the surface starts to burn, cover with foil and continue baking.
  16. Once the surface becomes crispy, add more margarine (as needed).
  17. The naan is done when the cheese inside is melted and the surface is browned.
  18. Slice the baked bread cheese naan.
  19. Serve with honey or salt, if desired. [This is the key!] If it cools down, you can reheat it in the microwave to enjoy the gooey cheese.
