Ryuji's 'Too Delicious Ham Donburi,' which can be made with just ham and onion from your fridge. The special sauce, easily made with just a Bunbun Chopper and no heat, is the key. The sourness and spiciness stimulate your appetite, and a large bowl of rice will be gone in no time! It's a perfect lazy yet delicious meal for busy or hot days.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (1 serving)

  • Rice 200g
  • Ham 4 slices (50g)
  • Onion 50g

Seasonings

  • [A] Soy Sauce 1 tbsp
  • [A] Vinegar 1/2 tbsp
  • [A] Sugar 1/2 tbsp
  • [A] MSG(Ajinomoto) (MSG) 4 shakes
  • [A] Sesame Oil 1/2 tbsp
  • [A] Red Chili Pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Microwave 200g rice for 3 minutes and 30 seconds to defrost. 【Tip!】 Rice that was cooked, wrapped, cooled, and then frozen will return to its freshly cooked state when microwaved at 600W for 3 minutes and 30 seconds.
  2. Put 50g onion into a Bunbun Chopper and mince it. 【Tip!】 If there are any clumped parts, tear them apart to achieve a coarser finish.
  3. Remove the blade from the Bunbun Chopper and add the seasonings to the container with the minced onion.
  4. Add 1 tbsp soy sauce, 1/2 tbsp vinegar, 1/2 tbsp sugar, 4 shakes MSG(Ajinomoto) (MSG), 1/2 tbsp sesame oil, and red chili pepper to taste. Mix well, and the ham sauce is complete. 【Tip!】 Adding MSG(Ajinomoto) (MSG) mellows the sharp edges of the vinegar and soy sauce, giving it a rich, restaurant-like flavor. If you don't like spicy food, you can omit the red chili pepper, but it tastes better with some spice.
  5. Serve the defrosted rice into a donburi bowl.
  6. Arrange 4 slices of ham over the rice.
  7. Pour a generous amount of the prepared onion sauce over the ham. 【Tip!】 If you prefer a lighter taste, adjust the amount of sauce.
  8. Garnish with chopped scallions (as desired) and serve.
