Ryuji's Ultimate Garlic Toast. With exquisite garlic butter combining fragrant and umami-rich garlic with MSG(Ajinomoto) umami seasoning, we bake a toast so delicious it will change your concept of bread.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Garlic 20g (sliced)
  • Garlic 20g (minced)
  • Baguette (or bread) to taste

Seasonings

  • [A] Butter 50g
  • [A] MSG(Ajinomoto) umami seasoning 4 shakes
  • [A] Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Olive oil 4 tsp
  • Dried parsley to taste

Steps

  1. Remove the root end of the garlic, lightly crush, and peel.
  2. Slice 20g of garlic into large pieces.
  3. Finely mince the remaining 20g of garlic as much as possible.
  4. Slice the baguette (or bread) into 1cm-1.5cm thick pieces.
  5. Add 4 tsp of olive oil to a frying pan and sauté the sliced 20g of garlic until it turns a Shiba Inu brown color. 【Tip!】 Sautéing until golden brown brings out a fragrant aroma.
  6. Once the sliced garlic is colored, remove it from the frying pan.
  7. Using the oil and heat remaining in the frying pan, add 50g of butter, the minced 20g of garlic, 1/4 tsp of salt, and 4 shakes of MSG(Ajinomoto) umami seasoning, then mix.
  8. Mix well until the umami-rich garlic butter softens. 【Tip!】 MSG(Ajinomoto) umami seasoning and butter are an excellent match. Just spreading it on regular toast will significantly boost the umami.
  9. Liberally spread the prepared garlic butter on the sliced bread.
  10. Place the garlic butter-coated bread in a toaster and bake at 250 degrees for about 6 minutes, or until your desired level of crispness.
  11. Top the finished garlic toast with the sautéed and removed sliced garlic, then sprinkle with dried parsley to taste.
