- Macaroni 100g
- Carrot 60g
- Cucumber 1 whole
- Corn 50g
- Imitation Crab Sticks 8 sticks
- Milk 1 tbsp
Seasonings
- [A] Mayonnaise 4 tbsp
- [A] Mentsuyu (Noodle Soup Base) 1/2 tbsp (2x concentrated)
- [A] Sugar 1.5 tsp
- [A] Salt 1/2 tsp
- [A] Olive Oil 1 tbsp
- [A] Salt and Pepper to taste
Steps
- Place 100g Macaroni in a microwave-safe bowl, add enough water to cover the macaroni, and 1/2 tsp Salt. Mix lightly.
- Microwave on 600W for 3 minutes without covering. (Key Tip!) Adjust cooking time based on your macaroni type. If boiling normally, cook for 1 minute longer than the package instructions for a plump texture even when cooled.
- While the macaroni is microwaving, peel the 60g Carrot, slice it thinly, then cut into 5mm thick strips.
- Add the sliced 60g Carrot to the microwaved macaroni, mix well to ensure it doesn't stick out of the water.
- Microwave again on 600W for 2 minutes without covering.
- While it's microwaving, trim the ends of the 1 whole Cucumber, slice it diagonally, then cut into 5mm thick strips.
- Place the sliced 1 whole Cucumber in a plastic bag, add 1/2 tsp Salt, and lightly shake to distribute. Remove the air, seal the bag, and let it sit for 5 minutes.
- After 2 minutes of microwaving, check if the macaroni is cooked. If it's still hard, microwave for additional time. (Key Tip!) Always check before draining the water.
- Drain the hot water from the macaroni and carrots, then drizzle 1 tbsp Olive Oil over them. Toss to coat and spread them out to cool. (Key Tip!) Coating with olive oil prevents the macaroni from sticking together. To prevent the mayonnaise from separating, be sure to let it cool down before proceeding to the next step.
- Take the 8 Imitation Crab Sticks out of their packaging, cut them in half, and shred them by hand into bite-sized pieces.
- Make a few small holes with a toothpick in one corner of the plastic bag containing the cucumber that has been sitting for 5 minutes, then squeeze out the excess water thoroughly.
- Transfer the cooled macaroni and carrots to a bowl. Add the shredded 8 Imitation Crab Sticks, the squeezed 1 whole Cucumber, and the drained 50g Corn.
- Add 4 tbsp Mayonnaise, 1.5 tsp Sugar, 1 tbsp Milk, 1/2 tbsp Mentsuyu (Noodle Soup Base), and Salt and Pepper to taste. Mix everything well.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with Salt and Pepper to taste.
