Surprisingly delicious cooked in the microwave without using a stove! Ryuji's 'Desperate Fried Rice' is the ultimate effortless recipe that can be quickly whipped up on busy days or when you have a hangover. The egg and rice are exquisitely intertwined, creating an addictive, fluffy texture. Enjoy authentic fried rice without any hassle.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (1 serving)

  • Rice 200g
  • Egg 1

Seasonings

  • Sesame oil 1/2 tbsp
  • Oil 1/2 tbsp
  • Salt 1/3 tsp
  • Soy sauce 1/2 tsp
  • Aji-no-moto 7 shakes
  • Black pepper to taste

Steps

  1. Prepare 200g of warm rice. [Pro Tip!] If you use cold rice, it will heat unevenly and won't turn out fluffy, so always use warm rice.
  2. In a heatproof container, add sesame oil 1/2 tbsp, oil 1/2 tbsp, and 1 egg, and mix well.
  3. To the container from step 2, add 200g rice, salt 1/3 tsp, soy sauce 1/2 tsp, Aji-no-moto 7 shakes, and black pepper to taste.
  4. Mix just enough to lightly combine everything. [Pro Tip!] Mixing too much will result in it becoming like Tamago Kake Gohan (rice with raw egg), so ensure the egg and rice remain somewhat separate.
  5. Cover with a lid, and heat in a 600W microwave for 2 minutes.
  6. After heating, mix everything thoroughly, breaking up the egg as you go.
