Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Chicken Thighs (for fried chicken) 250g
- Lemon slices (domestic) 2-3 slices
Seasonings
- [A] Salt 1/2 tsp
- [A] Grated Garlic 1 clove
- [A] Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tbsp
- [A] Lemon Juice 1 tbsp
- [A] Olive Oil 1 tbsp
- Coarsely Ground Black Pepper (to taste)
Steps
- Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
- Prepare a plastic bag. If it's thin, use a double layer.
- Add 250g Chicken Thighs, 1/2 tsp Salt, 1 clove Grated Garlic, 1 tbsp Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine), 1 tbsp Lemon Juice, 1 tbsp Olive Oil, and 2-3 Lemon Slices to the bag.
- Rub the ingredients thoroughly through the bag, expel the air, and marinate in the refrigerator for 2-3 hours. (Key Tip! Marinating thoroughly in the refrigerator allows the flavors to meld beautifully, resulting in delicious lemon-marinated chicken.)
- Heat a frying pan over medium heat and sear the marinated chicken, skin-side down. Sear the lemon slices along with the chicken for added aroma.
- Once the chicken skin is golden brown and crispy, remove the lemon slices. (Key Tip! Overheating the lemon can result in bitterness, so remove it after searing.)
- Add the remaining marinade to the frying pan, cover with a lid, reduce heat, and steam without flipping.
- Once the chicken is cooked through, return the removed lemon slices to the frying pan and mix everything together.
- Plate the chicken and pour the flavorful pan juices over it.
- Finish by sprinkling with Coarsely Ground Black Pepper (to taste).
