A recipe for a cute-looking "Perfectly Round Onion Omelette" using a whole new onion. Easy to make by just slicing and frying, it will beautifully decorate your dining table. A dish where you can enjoy the sweetness of seasonal onions.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- 1 New Onion (200g)
- 1 tsp All-Purpose Flour
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Wiener Sausage
Seasonings
- Pinch of Salt
- Pinch of Pepper
- Vegetable Oil
Steps
- Trim 1cm off the top and bottom of 1 New Onion (200g) and peel.
- Slice the onion horizontally into 1cm thick rings.
- Core the center of the onion rings and prepare 8 outer rings. (Key Tip! If the outer rings are too thin, stack two and core them).
- Place the prepared outer onion rings into a food bag and dust with 1 tsp All-Purpose Flour.
- Finely chop the cored center part of the onion.
- Place the chopped onion in a heatproof container, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 1 minute 30 seconds.
- Finely chop 1 Wiener Sausage to a similar size as the heated onion.
- In a bowl, lightly beat 2 Eggs, then add a pinch of salt, a pinch of pepper, the chopped and heated onion, and the finely chopped wiener. Mix well.
- Heat Vegetable Oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Dip the flour-dusted onion rings into the beaten egg mixture and place them in the frying pan.
- Once the onion rings are arranged, spoon the prepared egg and filling mixture into the center.
- Once poured, reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and steam-fry.
- When the egg starts to set, flip it over and cook the other side.
- Since the inside egg is mostly cooked, cook over medium heat until browned, for about 1 to 2 minutes.
- Transfer to a plate.
- Serve with ketchup, if desired, and enjoy!
