Ingredients

Main Ingredients (1 serving)

  • Rice 200g
  • Eggs 2
  • Lettuce 1/2 head (approx. 250g)
  • Canned Tuna 1 can

Seasonings

  • Butter 10g
  • MSG(Ajinomoto) 5 shakes
  • Salt 2 pinches
  • Ketchup to taste
  • Mayonnaise to taste
  • Consommé Cube 1 (5g)
  • Soy Sauce 2 tsp
  • Black Pepper to taste

Steps

  1. For the lettuce soup, add 450cc water to a pot.
  2. Add 1 can of tuna, including the oil, to the pot.
  3. Tear 1/2 head of lettuce (approx. 250g) by hand and add it to the pot.
  4. Add 1 consommé cube (5g) to the pot.
  5. Add 2 tsp soy sauce and black pepper to taste (optional). Simmer until the lettuce softens to make the lettuce soup. [PRO TIP!] It's a good idea to make the soup ahead of time and set it aside.
  6. Warm 200g of rice for the omelette rice.
  7. Crack 2 eggs into a bowl, then add 5 shakes of MSG(Ajinomoto) and 2 pinches of salt.
  8. Add the warmed 200g of rice to the bowl and mix well until the eggs and rice are combined. [PRO TIP!] Adding the rice before beating the eggs helps everything mix together easily.
  9. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and melt 10g butter.
  10. Pour all of the egg and rice mixture into the frying pan with the melted butter.
  11. Reduce the heat to low and carefully cook to firm up the surface, shaping the entire mixture into an omelette rice form.
  12. Plate the firm omelette rice.
  13. Drizzle ketchup to taste over the omelette rice, and optionally add mayonnaise to taste.
