A mixed rice recipe that's easy for anyone to make with simple ingredients and seasonings. It's delicious even without a dashi powder base and has a gentle flavor that pairs well with any side dish. Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Rice 2 cups (approx. 300g)
- Fresh Shiitake Mushrooms 2
- Carrot 1/5
Seasonings
- Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
- Seaweed (Nori) to taste
- Salt to taste
Steps
- Rinse 2 cups of rice and place it in the rice cooker pot.
- Add water slightly less than the 2 cup marking for the rice, soak for about 30 minutes to 1 hour until the rice becomes milky white.
- Add 2 tbsp soy sauce to the soaked rice.
- If the water level is less than the 2 cup marking, add more water to adjust.
- Gently mix and dissolve the soy sauce.
- Slice 1/5 carrot and 2 fresh shiitake mushrooms.
- Place the sliced carrots and shiitake mushrooms into the pot and cook in the rice cooker.
- The cooked rice can be arranged into onigiri using seaweed (nori) to taste and salt to taste.
