- Yam 300g
- Shiso Leaves 5 leaves
Seasonings
- [A] Sugar 1.5 tbsp
- [A] Vinegar 2 tbsp
- [A] Shiro Dashi (White Soy Sauce Base) 2 tbsp
- [A] Yukari (Shiso Powder) 2 tsp
Steps
- In a storage container, add 1.5 tbsp Sugar, 2 tbsp Vinegar, 2 tbsp Shiro Dashi (White Soy Sauce Base), and 2 tsp Yukari (Shiso Powder).
- Mix the added seasonings well.
- Peel 300g Yam.
- Cut the peeled yam into bite-sized pieces of about 1-2 cm cubes and place them in the storage container with the seasonings.
- Trim the stems off 5 Shiso Leaves.
- Finely chop the shiso leaves.
- Add the minced shiso leaves to the storage container, mix well with the yam and seasonings.
- Cover with a lid and let it marinate in the refrigerator for 1-2 hours.
- Once marinated and the flavors have steeped in, it's ready to serve. Consume within 3-5 days when stored in the refrigerator. This is recommended as a meal prep recipe that can be enjoyed refreshingly even in the summer heat.
