Ingredients
Main Ingredients (1-2 servings)
- Grated Yam 200g
- Egg 1 pc
- Bonito Flakes (Katsuobushi) 1 pack
- Chopped Green Onions or Aonori (Dried Green Seaweed) a little
Seasonings
- Ponzu Soy Sauce (to taste)
- Mayonnaise (to taste)
- Vegetable Oil 1 tsp
- Soy Sauce 1/2 tbsp
- Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 2 tbsp
Steps
- Peel and grate 200g of Grated Yam using a peeler or knife.
- In a bowl with the grated yam, crack 1 Egg, add 1/2 tbsp Soy Sauce and 2 tbsp Cooking Sake (Rice Wine).
- While crushing the egg with chopsticks, mix thoroughly until the yam and seasonings are uniform.
- Heat 1 tsp Vegetable Oil in a frying pan (a 22cm pan is recommended) over medium-low heat.
- Once the oil is hot, pour all the prepared yam mixture into the frying pan.
- Spread the mixture evenly in the pan, reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and cook for 5-6 minutes.
- After 5-6 minutes of cooking and the mixture is set, flip it with a spatula, remove the lid, and cook for another 1-2 minutes until evenly browned.
- Once both sides are cooked and the entire mixture is done, turn off the heat and transfer to a serving plate.
- Top the fluffy grated yam pancake with 1 pack of Bonito Flakes (Katsuobushi).
- Drizzle with Ponzu Soy Sauce (to taste) and sprinkle with Chopped Green Onions or Aonori (Dried Green Seaweed) a little, if desired.
- You can also serve with Mayonnaise (to taste) for an extra delicious touch.
