This is Ryuji-san's original donburi recipe, an utterly devilish delight featuring sweet and savory stir-fried ground pork and onion, topped with melted cheese and an egg yolk. An addictive dish guaranteed to make you crave more rice. Please give this ultimate comfort food a try!

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (1 serving)

  • Cooked rice 200g
  • Ground pork 100g
  • Onion 50g
  • Egg 1
  • Pizza cheese 35g
  • Pickled ginger (beni shoga) to taste
  • Scallions to taste

Seasonings

  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • Soy sauce 2 tsp
  • Oyster sauce 1 tsp
  • Sugar 1/2 tbsp
  • MSG(Ajinomoto) (MSG) 3 dashes
  • Black pepper to taste
  • Majisco

Steps

  1. Roughly chop 50g onion.
  2. Heat a frying pan over medium heat and stir-fry 100g ground pork without oil.
  3. Sprinkle salt and pepper to taste over the ground pork and continue to stir-fry.
  4. Add 50g onion and stir-fry until the ground pork changes color.
  5. Add 2 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp oyster sauce, 1/2 tbsp sugar, and 3 dashes MSG(Ajinomoto) (MSG), then stir-fry everything together.
  6. Serve 200g warm cooked rice in a donburi bowl and make a well in the center.
  7. Place the stir-fried ingredients into the well in the donburi, and carefully drop 1 egg into the center.
  8. Top with 35g pizza cheese.
  9. Reduce heat to low, cover with a lid, and steam-fry until the cheese melts and the egg is soft-set.
  10. Finish by topping with black pepper to taste, pickled ginger (beni shoga) to taste, and scallions to taste, then serve.
  11. For a change of flavor, add Majisco if desired.
