Ingredients
Main Ingredients (1 serving)
- Ground Pork 50g
- Green Onion 1 tbsp (minced)
- Ginger 1 tsp (minced)
- Garlic 1 tsp (minced)
- Chili Pepper a pinch
- Frozen Udon Noodles 1 portion
- Scallions to taste
Seasonings
- Chicken Bouillon Powder 2 tsp
- Doubanjiang (Chili Bean Paste) 1/2 tsp
- Salt 1/2 tsp
- Soy Sauce a dash
- Sesame Oil 1 tbsp
- Sichuan Peppercorns to taste
Steps
- In a pot, add about 500cc of water and add 50g of ground pork, breaking it up as you add it. Bring to a boil.
- Once boiling, carefully skim off any scum that rises to the surface.
- Reduce heat to low. Once the soup becomes clear, add 2 tsp of Chicken Bouillon Powder, 1 tsp of ginger, 1 tsp of garlic, 1 tbsp of green onion, and a pinch of chili pepper.
- Simmer for about 10 minutes, continuing to skim off any scum.
- Add 1/2 tsp of Doubanjiang (Chili Bean Paste) and adjust the flavor. [Key Tip!] You can make a delicious version without Doubanjiang for kids.
- Add 1 portion of frozen udon noodles directly to the pot, cover, and cook for 1 minute.
- Once the udon noodles have loosened, add 1/2 tsp of salt, a dash of soy sauce, and 1 tbsp of sesame oil, and adjust the flavor.
- Transfer to a serving bowl and sprinkle with scallions to taste.
- Sprinkle with Sichuan peppercorns to taste, if desired, and it's ready to serve.
