Recreate the viral Big Mac-style tacos using gyoza wrappers! This easy recipe features ground meat and plenty of vegetables, finished with a homemade sauce. It's a filling and satisfying dish that can be made in just one pan and is budget-friendly.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Ground Pork and Beef Mix 100g
  • Gyoza Wrappers 16 pcs
  • Egg 1 pc
  • Water 2 tbsp
  • Lettuce 2 leaves
  • Tomato 1/2 pc
  • Onion 1/6 pc

Seasonings

  • Salt (to taste)
  • [A] Ketchup 1 tbsp
  • [A] Mayonnaise 1 tbsp
  • [A] Soy Sauce 1/4 tsp
  • [A] Grated Garlic 1/4 tsp

Steps

  1. Finely shred 2 lettuce leaves into 2-3mm strips.
  2. Remove the stem from 1/2 tomato and dice into 1cm cubes.
  3. Peel and finely chop 1/6 onion.
  4. In a bowl, combine 1 tbsp ketchup, 1 tbsp mayonnaise, 1/4 tsp soy sauce, and 1/4 tsp grated garlic to make the sauce.
  5. In a separate bowl, whisk 1 egg with 2 tbsp water and a pinch of salt.
  6. Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
  7. Once the pan is hot, dip the gyoza wrappers in the beaten egg mixture. Arrange 4 wrappers, overlapping the edges, to form a circle. Fill the gaps between the wrappers with 4 more wrappers, creating a circle about 18-20cm in diameter. (Key Tip!) Adding water to the egg mixture will prevent the gyoza wrappers from becoming dry and result in a chewy texture.
  8. Prepare to cook another set of wrappers using the remaining egg mixture.
  9. Cook the gyoza wrappers in the beaten egg until the bottom is lightly browned.
  10. Flip and cook the other side until lightly browned.
  11. Once both sides are browned, remove the wrappers from the pan.
  12. Add a little more oil to the pan and cook the remaining wrappers in the same way, then remove them.
  13. On each cooked wrapper, spread 50g of the ground meat mix evenly by pressing it down with your hands.
  14. Sprinkle salt over the spread ground meat.
  15. Place the wrapper, meat-side down, into a frying pan heated over medium heat. Press down lightly with a spatula and cook until the meat is browned and cooked through. (Key Tip!) Cooking the meat-side down creates a nice sear and allows the juices to seep into the wrapper, enhancing the flavor.
  16. Once the meat is cooked and browned, transfer to a plate.
  17. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and meat, then remove them.
  18. On the wrapper with the cooked meat, add the shredded lettuce.
  19. Top with the finely chopped onion.
  20. Drizzle with the prepared sauce.
  21. Finally, scatter the diced tomato on top.
  22. Fold each wrapper in half and serve. Enjoy!
