Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Chicken Thighs 1 pc (approx. 320g)
Seasonings
- [A] Miso 1.5 tbsp
- [A] Sugar 2 tsp
- [A] Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tbsp
- [A] Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1/2 tbsp
- [A] Soy Sauce 1 tsp
- [A] Garlic 1 clove (approx. 8g)
Steps
- Bring 1 Chicken Thigh (approx. 320g) to room temperature.
- In a bowl, combine 1.5 tbsp Miso, 2 tsp Sugar, 1 tbsp Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine), 1/2 tbsp Cooking Sake (Rice Wine), 1 tsp Soy Sauce, and 1 clove (approx. 8g) grated Garlic. Mix well.
- Layer two sheets of aluminum foil and spread them out. Fold the edges slightly to create a tray-like border.
- Trim any yellow fatty parts from the skin of the Chicken Thigh with a knife.
- Pat the surface of the Chicken Thigh thoroughly dry with paper towels and make a few cuts into the meat.
- Cut the Chicken Thigh into approximately 4 pieces.
- Place the cut Chicken Thigh pieces into the bowl with the mixed seasonings and rub them in thoroughly.
- Arrange the seasoned Chicken Thigh pieces on the prepared aluminum foil.
- Bake the Chicken Thigh in a toaster (500W) for 12-13 minutes.
- Cover the baked Chicken Thigh with aluminum foil and let it rest for approximately 4 minutes using the residual heat of the toaster. (This is the key!) Resting with residual heat ensures the meat turns out plump and juicy.
- Increase the toaster heat to the maximum setting and grill the Chicken Thigh for 2-3 minutes until a nice brown char forms on the surface.
- Plate the plump and juicy miso-marinated chicken.
