This is the recipe for 'Endless Onions,' where onions are the star – it's so easy yet incredibly addictive. Simply slice the onions, soak them in water, then mix with canned tuna and seasonings. It's perfect as a side dish or appetizer, and a healthy dish that can even help promote healthy blood flow. Adding chili oil for a flavor variation is also recommended.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Onion 220g
  • Canned Tuna 1 can

Seasonings

  • [A] Soy Sauce 1 tbsp
  • [A] Vinegar 1 tbsp
  • [A] Sugar 1/2 tsp
  • [A] Salt 1/4 tsp
  • [A] Black Pepper to taste
  • [A] MSG(Ajinomoto) 5 shakes

Steps

  1. Cut the onion in half and slice thinly.
  2. Place the sliced onion in a bowl and soak in plenty of water for 15 to 30 minutes to remove the pungent taste. 【Tip!】 The longer you soak it in water, the more pungent taste will be removed and the sweeter it will become. If cut thickly, 30 minutes is recommended.
  3. Firmly squeeze the water-soaked onion with both hands to thoroughly remove moisture.
  4. Completely wipe off any remaining moisture in the bowl.
  5. Add the squeezed onion and 1 can of tuna (including the oil) to the bowl.
  6. Add soy sauce 1 tbsp, vinegar 1 tbsp, sugar 1/2 tsp, salt 1/4 tsp, black pepper to taste, and MSG(Ajinomoto) 5 shakes, then mix everything well. 【Tip!】 Adding more black pepper enhances the flavor. Adding MSG(Ajinomoto) boosts the umami and highlights the deliciousness of the vegetables.
  7. Serve on a plate and enjoy.
