Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Pork slices 250g
- Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tsp
- Toasted sesame seeds (to taste)
- Potato Starch (as needed)
Seasonings
- [A] Soy Sauce 1 tbsp
- [A] Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tbsp
- [A] Vinegar 1 tbsp
- [A] Sugar 1/2 tbsp
Steps
- In a bowl, combine Soy Sauce 1 tbsp, Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tbsp, Vinegar 1 tbsp, and Sugar 1/2 tbsp.
- Sprinkle Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tsp over Pork slices 250g and rub well.
- Spread Potato Starch (as needed) on a plate. Coat the pork slices with the starch. Tear into bite-sized pieces if necessary while coating.
- Heat oil in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the pan is hot, arrange the starch-coated pork slices. Cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides, flipping halfway through.
- Once the pork is crispy, turn off the heat and wipe off excess oil from the pan with paper towels. This is the key! Searing the pork until it makes a rattling sound ensures it stays crispy even after being coated in the sauce.
- Reheat the pan over medium-high heat. Stir the prepared sauce mixture and pour it into the pan.
- Toss the pork with the sauce and simmer, allowing the liquid to reduce.
- Once the liquid has reduced and thickened, and the sauce coats the pork well, turn off the heat.
- Transfer to a serving dish and sprinkle with Toasted sesame seeds (to taste). Serve and enjoy!
