A crispy dish made easily with gyoza wrappers, using plenty of seasonal corn. The creamy white sauce, salty ham, and cheese create an exquisite match with a fun texture. It's easy to make in a frying pan and grill, and sure to delight the whole family.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Corn 1 cob (approx. 160g net)
  • Cake Flour 1 tsp
  • Milk 4 tbsp
  • Ham 2 slices
  • Gyoza Wrappers approx. 15
  • Mixed Cheese 30g

Seasonings

  • Water 1 tbsp
  • Granulated Consommé 1/2 tsp
  • Mayonnaise
  • Coarsely Ground Black Pepper

Steps

  1. Peel and remove the silk from 1 cob of corn.
  2. Cut the corn into three equal lengths.
  3. Stand the corn on its cut side on a cutting board and cut off the kernels. [Key Tip!] Stand it on its cut side for stability, making it easier to cut off the kernels.
  4. Place the cut corn (approx. 160g net) into a bowl.
  5. Add 1 tbsp of water to the bowl, cover with plastic wrap, and microwave at 600W for 3 minutes.
  6. Add 1 tsp of cake flour to the microwaved corn and mix until evenly coated.
  7. Add 4 tbsp of milk and mix.
  8. Microwave at 600W for about 1 minute.
  9. After microwaving, mix well until a thickened consistency is achieved throughout.
  10. Add 1/2 tsp of granulated consommé and mix.
  11. Cut 2 slices of ham into thin, bite-sized pieces.
  12. Add the cut ham to the bowl and mix all ingredients together.
  13. Lightly oil a frying pan.
  14. Arrange approx. 15 gyoza wrappers in a circle in the frying pan, overlapping the edges without any gaps.
  15. Spread the prepared corn and ham mixture evenly over the arranged gyoza wrappers.
  16. Sprinkle 30g of mixed cheese evenly over the top.
  17. Drizzle mayonnaise in a striped pattern over the entire surface.
  18. Sprinkle with coarsely ground black pepper, if desired. [Key Tip!] If you're not keen on spice, it's delicious without the black pepper.
  19. Cover with a lid and cook over medium heat for 5 minutes.
  20. After cooking, transfer from the frying pan onto aluminum foil.
  21. Grill or toast until the surface is browned. [Key Tip!] If the edges start to burn, cover with aluminum foil to prevent them from charring.
  22. Cut into easy-to-eat portions and serve on a plate.
