A super slimming tofu dish passed down from the Edo period. Happai Tofu is so delicious, it'll disappear in seconds just by simmering it. Easy to make with few ingredients, it's a highly recommended dish for those on a diet.

- Firm Tofu 350g
Seasonings
- [A] Water 210ml
- [A] Soy Sauce 35ml
- [A] Sake 35ml
- [A] MSG(Ajinomoto) (MSG) 7 shakes
- [A] Bonito Powder 3g
- Grated Daikon Radish to taste
- Green Onions to taste
- Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese Seven Spice Blend) to taste
Steps
- Peel the daikon radish skin with a peeler.
- Drain excess water from the 350g firm tofu beforehand.
- Add 210ml water, 35ml soy sauce, 35ml sake, 7 shakes of MSG(Ajinomoto) (MSG), and 3g bonito powder to a pot and bring to a boil.
- Add the 350g firm tofu to the boiling pot and simmer until it's just covered by the liquid.
- Grate the daikon radish.
- Finely chop the green onions.
- Serve the simmered tofu in a bowl, garnished with grated daikon radish, green onions, and Shichimi Togarashi (Japanese Seven Spice Blend).
