A simple and healthy shrimp, pollack roe, and okra pasta made with ingredients from the drugstore. It's easy to make with just a microwave and a bowl, making it perfect for busy days or lunch. The slimy texture of okra and the umami of pollack roe combine exquisitely, while the aroma of sesame oil whets your appetite. This satisfying dish is also budget-friendly.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (1 serving)

  • Shrimp (peeled) 60g
  • Frozen Okra 60g
  • Dried Pasta 80g
  • Salted Pollack Roe (Tarako) 30g

Seasonings

  • Sesame Oil 1 tbsp
  • Dashi Powder 1/2 tsp
  • Toasted Sesame Seeds
  • Salt (a pinch)

Steps

  1. Make a cut along the back of the shrimp (peeled) 60g and remove the devein.
  2. Rinse the shrimp thoroughly.
  3. Wrap the shrimp in plastic wrap and microwave at 600W for 1 minute.
  4. Drain the water from the microwaved shrimp.
  5. Place the shrimp and frozen okra 60g (while still frozen) in a bowl and let it sit until the okra thaws. (Key Tip! If the okra doesn't thaw, microwave it briefly.)
  6. In a deep heat-resistant container, add dried pasta 80g, enough water to cover, and salt (a pinch). Microwave at 600W for 3 minutes longer than the package instructions.
  7. Drain the microwaved pasta and add it to the bowl with the shrimp and okra.
  8. Remove the skin from the salted pollack roe 30g, add it to the bowl, and add sesame oil 1 tbsp. Mix everything together.
  9. If the pasta is too firm, add a little water and mix.
  10. Add dashi powder 1/2 tsp to adjust the flavor.
  11. Mix everything together and plate.
  12. Finally, sprinkle toasted sesame seeds over the entire dish.
