- 6 chicken tenderloins
- 2 tsp Potato Starch
Seasonings
- [A] 1 tbsp Cooking Sake (Rice Wine)
- [A] 1 tbsp Shiro Dashi (White Soy Sauce Base)
- [A] Salt and Pepper to taste
- [A] 1 tsp grated garlic
- [A] 1 tsp sesame oil
- Vegetable Oil
- grated wasabi to taste
Steps
- Prepare 6 chicken tenderloins.
- Remove the sinew from the chicken tenderloins.
- Cut each chicken tenderloin into 4 pieces.
- In a bowl, add the cut chicken tenderloins, 1 tbsp Cooking Sake (Rice Wine), 1 tbsp Shiro Dashi (White Soy Sauce Base), salt and pepper to taste, 1 tsp grated garlic, and 1 tsp sesame oil. Mix well by massaging.
- Let it sit for about 10 minutes to let the flavors meld.
- Add 2 tsp Potato Starch and mix to coat evenly.
- Skewer 4 pieces of the seasoned chicken tenderloin onto each skewer.
- Heat Vegetable Oil in a frying pan.
- Once the oil is heated, reduce to low heat and arrange the chicken skewers.
- Cover with a lid and steam-grill over low heat for 3 minutes.
- Flip the skewers, cover with a lid, and steam-grill over low heat for 5 minutes.
- Once cooked, they are ready. [Key Tip!] If they are not cooked through, add an additional minute to the cooking time.
- Transfer to a plate.
- Top with grated wasabi to taste as a finishing touch. [Key Tip!] If you don't like wasabi, scattering black pepper, ichimi chili pepper, or bonito flakes also makes it delicious.
