A luxurious tuna donburi recipe that you can easily make at home using sashimi-grade tuna. With the condiments and marinade ready, you can enjoy authentic deliciousness in just 10 minutes. Its ease of preparation makes it perfect for busy days.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- 2 bowls of rice (approx. 300g each)
- 200g Sashimi-grade Tuna
- 2-3 Shiso Leaves
- A little shredded nori (seaweed)
- A little toasted white sesame seeds
- A little grated wasabi
Seasonings
- Soy Sauce 2 tbsp
- Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tsp
- Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tsp
Steps
- In a heatproof container, add Mirin (Sweet Rice Wine) 1 tsp and Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 1 tsp.
- Heat in the microwave at 600W for 40-50 seconds without a lid to evaporate the alcohol. (Key Tip!) Evaporating the alcohol ensures the tuna's flavor is preserved and results in a delicious dish.
- Add Soy Sauce 2 tbsp to the heated seasonings and mix to create the marinade.
- Spread the sashimi-grade tuna slices on a tray or flat plate.
- Pour the prepared marinade over the entire tuna, gently mix, and let it sit for 4-5 minutes. (Key Tip!) Even a short marinating time is enough to infuse the flavor.
- While the tuna is marinating, thinly slice 2-3 Shiso Leaves.
- Serve 2 bowls of rice into individual donburi bowls.
- Drizzle about 1 tsp of the marinade over the rice.
- Sprinkle a little shredded nori over the rice.
- Top with the marinated tuna, thinly sliced shiso leaves, a little toasted white sesame seeds, and a little grated wasabi to complete the dish.
