Here's how to make the ultimate weight loss meal, "Numa" (The Mire), created by Shiny Azuma of Muscle Grill. It's packed with nutrients, low in calories, requires minimal effort, and is designed to help you perform at your best during a diet. Discover the secrets to making this simple and sustainable meal.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients (1 Day Serving (approx. 1800kcal))
- Rice 200g
- Dried Wakame Seaweed, a handful
- Dried Shiitake Mushrooms, a handful
- Okra, as needed
- Chicken Breast 700g
- Water, up to the 10-go line in the rice cooker
Seasonings
Steps
- Prepare a 10-go capacity rice cooker.
- Measure and add 200g of rice to the inner pot of the rice cooker.
- Add a handful of dried wakame seaweed on top of the rice.
- Add a handful of dried shiitake mushrooms on top of the wakame.
- Add okra as needed on top of the dried shiitake mushrooms.
- Place the whole 700g chicken breast on top of the okra. [This is the key!] Keeping the chicken breast whole prevents flavor from escaping.
- Pour water (approx. 2L) until it reaches the 10-go line in the rice cooker.
- Place a weight on top to ensure the chicken breast is fully submerged in the water. [This is the key!] It's crucial for the chicken to be completely submerged. Any heavy object will do.
- Set the rice cooker and cook for approximately 10 minutes.
- After cooking, switch to the keep-warm function temporarily, then turn it off and let it sit for 7-8 hours. [This is the key!] Starting the cooking process at night and letting it sit until the next morning allows the moisture to evaporate, resulting in the thick, "mire"-like consistency.
- After resting, once it has thickened, the "Numa" is complete. When consuming, aim for 1 day's serving (approx. 1800kcal) and divide it into four portions. [This is the key!] Cooking with more water increases the volume and satiety, making it easier to stick to your diet while still enjoying the meal.
