- Mayonnaise 35g
- Aji-no-moto (MSG) 6 shakes
- Salt 1/2 tsp (for seasoning)
- Ketchup 1/2 tbsp
- Black Pepper to taste
Steps
- Peel the onion and thinly slice 30g against the grain. 【Tip!】 Slicing against the grain gives it a crispier texture.
- Bring 350g chicken breast to room temperature, and rub a pinch of salt all over. Pierce it in several places with a fork to help it cook evenly. 【Tip!】 If the chicken is cold from the refrigerator, heat it in the microwave at 600W for 10 seconds at a time until it reaches body temperature.
- Place the chicken breast in a heatproof container, cover it, and microwave at 600W for 3 minutes 50 seconds.
- After heating, leave it in the microwave for 5 minutes to ensure the chicken breast is thoroughly cooked.
- Remove the cooked chicken breast and shred it into bite-sized pieces.
- In a bowl, combine the shredded chicken breast, sliced onion, 1 clove grated garlic, 35g mayonnaise, 6 shakes Aji-no-moto (MSG), 1/3 tsp salt, 1/2 tbsp ketchup, and black pepper to taste. Mix well. 【Tip!】 Adding Aji-no-moto (MSG) combines with the inosinic acid in the chicken, creating a deeper umami.
- Taste and adjust seasoning with additional salt (not included in ingredients) until the total saltiness is about 1/2 tsp. Serve on a plate and garnish with parsley (not included in ingredients), if desired.
