Ryuji's addictive 'Chicken Ramen Rice' is made by crushing instant ramen and stir-frying it with rice. Chicken, eggs, and green onions are added, all finished with fragrant sesame oil. This simple yet deeply flavorful dish is sure to satisfy both children and adults, and it's also perfect as a late-night snack or a hearty meal after drinks.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Chicken Ramen 1 packet
- Cooked Rice 200g
- Chicken Thigh 100g
- Green Onion 40g
- Eggs 2
Seasonings
- Salt and Pepper to taste
- Sake 1 tbsp
- Water 120ml
- Black Pepper to taste
- Sesame Oil 1 tbsp
Steps
- Warm up the cooked rice.
- Cut 100g chicken thigh into bite-sized pieces.
- Season the cut chicken with salt and pepper to taste.
- Wash the cutting board after cutting the chicken.
- Make a lengthwise cut in 40g green onion, then chop it finely. Wash and use the green part as well.
- Beat 2 eggs.
- Heat 1 tbsp sesame oil in a frying pan and stir-fry the seasoned chicken.
- Crush 1 packet of Chicken Ramen into small pieces by tapping it from above the bag.
- Once the chicken is cooked, add 1 tbsp sake to add flavor.
- Add 120ml water and the crushed 1 packet of Chicken Ramen, and simmer over medium heat until the Chicken Ramen absorbs the liquid. [TIP!] The key is to evaporate a certain amount of moisture to prevent the rice from becoming soggy.
- Once the moisture has evaporated, add the warmed 200g cooked rice and stir-fry everything together.
- Once everything is mixed, make a slight well in the center of the pan and sprinkle with black pepper to taste.
- Pour the beaten eggs into the well, then sprinkle the chopped green onion over them.
- Reduce the heat from medium to low, cover, and steam until the eggs are half-cooked.
- Finally, sprinkle with black pepper to taste and it's done.
