Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Yakisoba noodles 2 servings
- Onion 1/4
- Carrot 50g (approx. 1/3)
- Bell peppers 3
- Thinly sliced pork 120g
Seasonings
- Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) 4 tbsp
- Powdered Sauce 1 packet (included with noodles)
- Sesame Oil 1 tbsp
- Soy Sauce 1 tsp
- Salt (to taste)
- Pepper (to taste)
Steps
- Finely slice 1/4 onion lengthwise along the grain.
- Thinly slice 50g of carrot with the peel on, stack them, and cut into thin strips.
- Push in the stems of 3 bell peppers, cut them in half lengthwise, remove seeds, lightly crush, and cut to the same thickness as the carrot.
- Place the cut vegetables together on a plate.
- Cut 120g of thinly sliced pork into bite-sized pieces, sprinkle with a little salt and a little pepper, and lightly loosen.
- Heat a frying pan over high heat.
- Microwave 2 servings of yakisoba noodles for 1 minute per pack and lightly loosen. 【This is the secret!】 Heating the noodles before cooking the meat makes a difference.
- Add the cut vegetables to the hot frying pan without oil, sprinkle with 2 pinches of salt and a little pepper, and stir-fry until browned. 【This is the secret!】 Cooking without oil allows the vegetables to develop a nice char and aroma while staying crisp.
- Transfer the browned vegetables to a plate.
- Add oil to the same frying pan, add the seasoned thinly sliced pork, spread it out, and cook until done. 【This is the secret!】 Cooking the pork separately beforehand keeps it juicy.
- Once the pork is cooked, transfer it to the plate with the vegetables.
- Clean the frying pan, add oil, and heat over medium heat.
- Add the microwaved and loosened yakisoba noodles to the hot pan and stir-fry for about 30 seconds.
- Add 4 tbsp of Cooking Sake (Rice Wine) and the powdered sauce to the stir-fried noodles and mix well to coat. 【This is the secret!】 Be careful not to add too much liquid, as it will make the noodles mushy.
- Once the sauce is evenly distributed on the noodles, return the vegetables and pork to the pan and mix everything together.
- Once combined, create a space on the side of the pan and pour 1 tbsp of sesame oil around the edge of the pan. 【This is the secret!】 Pouring sesame oil around the edge enhances its aroma.
- Continue by pouring 1 tsp of soy sauce around the edge of the pan, quickly toss everything to combine, and turn off the heat.
- Plate and serve.
