This easy pan-fried king oyster mushroom dish is made by simply mixing and frying. Packed with king oyster mushrooms, sausages, and cheese, it offers a delightful chewy texture and rich umami flavor. It's perfect as a main dish or a snack for your dining table.
Ingredients
Main Ingredients (For one 20cm frying pan)
- King Oyster Mushrooms 1 pack (150g)
- Sausages 3 pieces
- Mixed Cheese 40g
- All-purpose Flour 2 tbsp
- Egg 1
- Vegetable Oil (to taste)
Seasonings
- Salt and Pepper 1/4 tsp
- Dried Parsley (a sprinkle)
Steps
- Finely chop 1 pack (150g) of King Oyster Mushrooms into 5mm cubes.
- Finely chop 3 Sausages into 5mm cubes, the same size as the mushrooms.
- Place the chopped king oyster mushrooms and sausages into a bowl.
- Add 2 tbsp of All-purpose Flour to the bowl and toss to coat the mushrooms and sausages. Shaking the bowl will help mix everything evenly.
- Once the flour is evenly distributed, add 1 Egg and 1/4 tsp Salt and Pepper. Whisk the egg and mix thoroughly until well combined. (Key Tip!) Mix well until the egg coats all the ingredients to help them bind together.
- After mixing in the egg, add 40g of Mixed Cheese and mix again.
- Heat Vegetable Oil (to taste) in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the pan is hot, spread the mixed ingredients evenly. (Key Tip!) Press down with a spatula while spreading to ensure the ingredients don't fall apart.
- Cook over medium heat for 3-4 minutes until the bottom is golden brown.
- When the mixture is firm enough to move, cover the frying pan with a plate, flip it over, and return it to the pan.
- Shape the edges and cook the other side until golden brown. (Key Tip!) Due to the fat from the cheese, you don't need to add extra oil for this finishing step.
- Once cooked, cut into bite-sized pieces and arrange on a plate.
- Sprinkle a pinch of Dried Parsley over the top.
