Steps
- Crack 1 egg into a bowl and lightly whisk.
- Add 1 tbsp sugar to the egg and mix quickly.
- Add 150ml milk and mix well to create the French toast batter.
- Trim the crusts off 2 slices of bread.
- Prick the surface of the bread all over with a fork or similar tool.
- Cut the bread slices in half.
- Make a cut into the center of each bread half.
- Pour the French toast batter into the cut and soak the entire bread slice.
- Gently press down on the bread to remove air and ensure it absorbs the batter thoroughly.
- Let the bread soak for 30 minutes to allow the batter to fully penetrate.
- Place 10g unsalted butter in a frying pan and heat over medium heat.
