Simply marinate the ingredients to make 'Devilishly Delicious Marinated Avocado'. The exquisite balance of the umami from Shiro Dashi, the spiciness of wasabi, and the refreshing zest of lemon is truly remarkable. The melt-in-your-mouth texture of avocado combined with the saltiness of shirasu (small sardines) creates a blissful dish that pairs perfectly with rice and drinks.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Avocado 2
  • Shirasu (small sardines) 40g

Seasonings

  • [A] Olive Oil 2 tbsp
  • [A] Grated Garlic 1 tsp
  • [A] Water 3 tbsp
  • [A] Shiro Dashi (White Soy Sauce Base) 2 tbsp
  • [A] Lemon Juice 2 tsp
  • [A] Grated Wasabi 2-3 tsp

Steps

  1. In a heatproof container, combine Olive Oil 2 tbsp, Grated Garlic 1 tsp, and Shirasu 40g, then mix well.
  2. Microwave on 600W for 40 seconds.
  3. To the heated container, add Water 3 tbsp, Shiro Dashi (White Soy Sauce Base) 2 tbsp, Lemon Juice 2 tsp, and Grated Wasabi 2-3 tsp, then mix thoroughly.
  4. Make an incision in the Avocado 2, cut in half, and remove the pit.
  5. Cut each avocado half into two pieces and peel off the skin.
  6. Cut the avocado into bite-sized pieces and place them in a storage container.
  7. Pour the prepared marinade over the avocado in the storage container and coat evenly. This is the secret! The lemon juice prevents the avocado from browning.
  8. Marinate in the refrigerator for about 2 hours.
  9. After marinating, to prevent discoloration, it's recommended to consume within 3 to 5 days. Ripe avocados are best eaten the same day.
