Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Marutai Stick Ramen 1 pack
Seasonings
- [A] Marutai Stick Ramen attached soup 1 pack
- [A] Water 90cc
- [A] Sugar 1 tbsp
- [A] Soy sauce 1/2 tbsp
- [A] Vinegar 1 tbsp
- Red pickled ginger (beni shoga) to taste
Steps
- In a bowl, add 90cc water and 1 pack of Marutai Stick Ramen attached soup.
- Add 1 tbsp sugar, 1/2 tbsp soy sauce, and 1 tbsp vinegar, mix well to create the Hiyashi Chuka sauce.
- Boil plenty of water in a pot, add 1 pack of Marutai Stick Ramen noodles, and boil for 4 minutes.
- Thoroughly cool the boiled noodles under running water and drain well.
- If necessary, cool further in ice water.
- Arrange the chilled noodles on a plate, and add toppings such as kinshi tamago (shredded egg crepe) or cucumber, as desired.
- Pour the prepared sauce over the noodles, and finish by adding red pickled ginger to taste. 【Pro Tip!】 When making Hiyashi Chuka, try this secret trick: soak the noodles in water before boiling. This eliminates the firmness characteristic of dried noodles, giving them a springy texture like fresh noodles and allowing them to absorb the soup better. Give it a try if you have time.
