Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Medium Potato: 1 (approx. 150g)
- Thinly sliced pork: 200g
- Potato Starch: 2 tbsp
- Green Onion: 2 stalks
Seasonings
- Chicken Stock Powder: 1.5 tsp
- Grated Garlic: 1 tsp
- Salt: (to taste)
- Coarsely Ground Black Pepper: (to taste)
- Vegetable Oil: (for cooking)
Steps
- Wash medium potato (150g) thoroughly with water.
- Grate the washed potato.
- Finely chop 2 green onions.
- In a bowl, combine grated potato, 2 tbsp potato starch, 1.5 tsp chicken stock powder, 1 tsp grated garlic, salt (to taste), coarsely ground black pepper (to taste), and the chopped green onions.
- Continue by adding 200g thinly sliced pork, tearing it into smaller pieces, and mixing everything evenly in the bowl. [Key Tip!] Tearing the pork by hand helps it integrate better with the potato, resulting in a tender texture.
- Heat vegetable oil (for cooking) in a frying pan over medium heat.
- Once the pan is hot, place spoonfuls of the potato and pork mixture onto the pan, shaping them into bite-sized circles.
- Once the bottom is crispy, flip them over. [Key Tip!] The starch from the potato creates a crispy surface.
- After flipping, reduce heat to low-medium, cover with a lid, and steam for 2 minutes.
- Once the pork is cooked through and the other side is golden brown, transfer to a plate. [Key Tip!] These are delicious even when cold, making them an excellent option for bento boxes.
