Made in just one frying pan! This recipe for 'Hashed Pork' uses thinly sliced pork and onions, making it quick and incredibly satisfying with rice. Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • 1 Onion (200g)
  • 200g Thinly Sliced Pork
  • 1.5 tbsp All-Purpose Flour

Seasonings

  • [A] 3 tbsp Ketchup
  • [A] 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • [A] 1 tbsp Soy Sauce
  • [A] 1/2 tsp Granulated Consomme
  • 200ml Water
  • Salt (to taste)

Steps

  1. Halve, peel, and thinly slice 1 Onion (200g).
  2. Tear 200g Thinly Sliced Pork into bite-sized pieces and place in a frying pan.
  3. Add 3 tbsp Ketchup, 2 tbsp Worcestershire Sauce, 1 tbsp Soy Sauce, 1.5 tbsp All-Purpose Flour, and 1/2 tsp Granulated Consomme to the pork in the frying pan. Mix well to coat.
  4. Add the thinly sliced onion and mix again.
  5. Heat the frying pan over medium heat.
  6. Once the pan is hot, stir, scraping from the bottom as you cook. (Key Tip!) Cook until the onions are softened and the pork is about 80% cooked.
  7. Add 200ml Water, stir everything together, and bring to a boil over high heat.
  8. Continue to heat, scraping any seasoning stuck to the sides of the pan with your spatula.
  9. Simmer over medium heat for about 3 minutes, until the sauce thickens and the pork is fully cooked.
  10. Turn off the heat and season with Salt (to taste).
  11. Serve the Hashed Pork over a bowl of rice.
