Ingredients
Main Ingredients (2 servings)
- Potatoes 300g
- Potato Starch 30g
- All-purpose Flour 30g
- Frying Oil (for deep frying) - amount as needed
Seasonings
- Salt 1/2 tsp
Steps
- Peel and cut 300g of potatoes into bite-sized pieces.
- Soak the cut potatoes in water for 5 minutes. Then, drain thoroughly to remove all excess water.
- Transfer the drained potatoes to a microwave-safe container and heat in a 600W microwave for 6 minutes. After heating, mash them thoroughly with a fork.
- Add 30g of potato starch, 30g of all-purpose flour, and 1/2 tsp of salt to the mashed potatoes and mix well.
- Use a rubber spatula or your hands to gather the mixture into a cohesive dough.
- Divide the dough into 2 portions. Roll each portion into a ball, then roll it between your hands to form a stick shape, about 1.5-2cm thick. Cut into segments of approximately 1.5-2cm width.
- Create ridges on the shaped dough pieces by pressing with a fork.
- Pour frying oil (for deep frying) into a frying pan to a depth of about 1cm and heat to approximately 170°C (338°F).
- Carefully add the shaped dough pieces to the heated oil. Fry until they achieve a nice golden brown color all over. Remove from the oil as they become nicely fried.
