An easy and delicious soy sauce rice recipe made conveniently in a rice cooker. Enjoy a variety of arrangements from the basic soy sauce rice to nori butter, egg-over-rice, and fragrant grilled onigiri for endless enjoyment. It's also delicious cold, making it a perfect addition to your bento box.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • White Rice 2 cups (approx. 300g)
  • Roasted Nori Seaweed 1/4 sheet
  • Egg Yolk 1
  • Finely Chopped Green Onion (to taste)

Seasonings

  • Soy Sauce 2 to 2.5 tbsp
  • [A] Butter 5g
  • [A] Soy Sauce (a little)
  • [B] Soy Sauce (a little)
  • [C] Sesame Oil (a little)

Steps

  1. Lightly rinse 2 cups of White Rice and drain.
  2. Place the rinsed 2 cups of White Rice into the inner pot of the rice cooker and add 2 to 2.5 tbsp of Soy Sauce.
  3. Briefly mix everything together.
  4. Add water up to the 2-cup mark.
  5. Cook the rice in the rice cooker.
  6. Fluff the cooked soy sauce rice with a rice paddle and serve into bowls.
  7. In a separate bowl of soy sauce rice, tear 1/4 sheet of Roasted Nori Seaweed into your desired size and place it on top.
  8. Add 5g of Butter and a little Soy Sauce. [Key Tip!] Mixing while hot enhances the flavor.
  9. In another bowl of soy sauce rice, place 1 Egg Yolk and finely chopped Green Onion (to taste).
  10. Drizzle with a little Soy Sauce.
  11. Heat a little Sesame Oil in a frying pan and place onigiri made from the soy sauce rice into the pan.
  12. Grill the onigiri until golden brown. [Key Tip!] For extra fragrance, brush with soy sauce during grilling if desired.
