Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2 servings)

  • Sweet Onion 1 (approx. 250g)
  • Chicken Thighs 1 piece (approx. 200g)
  • All-Purpose Flour 1.5 tbsp
  • Milk 150ml
  • Mixed Cheese (to taste)
  • Breadcrumbs (to taste)

Seasonings

  • Salt 1/4 tsp
  • Granulated Consommé 1 tsp
  • Grated Garlic 1 tsp

Steps

  1. Peel and halve the sweet onion.
  2. Make rough cuts into about 4 pieces for each half of the sweet onion, creating large, irregular chunks.
  3. Cut the chicken thighs into bite-sized pieces.
  4. Heat vegetable oil in a frying pan over medium heat. Arrange the cut chicken thighs in the pan and cook until browned on both sides.
  5. Add the chopped sweet onion and salt 1/4 tsp to the browned chicken thighs. Stir-fry until the sweet onion becomes translucent.
  6. Turn off the heat, add all-purpose flour 1.5 tbsp, and mix until evenly coated.
  7. Add milk 150ml, granulated consommé 1 tsp, and grated garlic 1 tsp. Cook until thickened.
  8. Reduce heat to low and simmer for about 3 minutes until the sweet onion is very soft and mushy. Transfer to a gratin dish.
  9. Sprinkle with mixed cheese (to taste) and breadcrumbs (to taste). Bake until the surface is golden brown and then serve. It's done!
