Ingredients

Main Ingredients (2-3 servings)

  • Napa Cabbage 400g

Seasonings

  • [A] Salt (a pinch)
  • [A] Chicken Granules (1 tsp)
  • [A] Soy Sauce (1 tsp)
  • [A] Sugar (1/2 tsp)
  • [A] Grated Garlic (1/2 tsp)
  • [A] Vinegar (1 tsp)
  • [A] Toasted Sesame Seeds (1 tbsp)
  • [A] Sesame Oil (1 tbsp)
  • [A] Black Pepper (to taste)

Steps

  1. Trim the core of the Napa cabbage.
  2. Slice the Napa cabbage into 1cm thick pieces.
  3. Rinse the sliced Napa cabbage and thoroughly pat it dry with paper towels.
  4. Place the Napa cabbage in a bowl, cover loosely with plastic wrap, and microwave on 600W for 3 minutes.
  5. Let the microwaved Napa cabbage cool down, then firmly squeeze out any excess liquid. (This is the key step!) Thoroughly squeezing out the water helps the flavors meld better.
  6. In the bowl with the squeezed Napa cabbage, add a pinch of salt, 1/2 tsp sugar, 1 tsp chicken granules, 1 tsp vinegar, 1 tsp soy sauce, 1/2 tsp grated garlic, 1 tbsp toasted sesame seeds, 1 tbsp sesame oil, and black pepper to taste. Add all at once.
  7. Mix everything well. It's ready when the sugar and chicken granules have dissolved. Enjoy!
