This is a simple and decadent banana cake recipe that you can make in just one frying pan, with no oven required. Enjoy its fluffy and moist texture, perfect for a snack. It's also recommended for beginner cooks.

Ingredients

Main Ingredients (1 cake)

  • Hot Cake Mix 150g
  • Milk 100ml
  • Egg 1 pc
  • Banana 2 pcs
  • Unsalted Butter 10g

Seasonings

  • Granulated Sugar 2 tbsp
  • Granulated Sugar 1 tbsp

Steps

  1. Break about 80g of banana for the batter into bite-sized pieces and place in a heatproof bowl.
  2. Cover with plastic wrap and heat in a 600W microwave for 1 minute, then mash with a masher or fork.
  3. Crack 1 egg into the mashed banana and mix quickly.
  4. Add 2 tbsp of granulated sugar and mix well.
  5. Add 100ml of milk and mix well.
  6. Add 150g of hot cake mix and mix to prevent lumps.
  7. Slice the remaining banana (for topping) into 1cm thick rounds.
  8. Place 10g of unsalted butter in the frying pan and heat.
  9. Add 1 tbsp of granulated sugar and spread it while stirring.
  10. Turn off the heat momentarily, then arrange the sliced banana in the frying pan.
  11. Pour all the prepared batter into the frying pan, cover with a lid, and cook over very low heat for 10 minutes.
  12. Loosen the edges, place a plate over the cake, and invert the frying pan to transfer the cake onto the plate.
  13. Return the cake to the frying pan, and cook uncovered over very low heat for about 5 minutes.
  14. Insert a bamboo skewer into the center. If no raw batter clings to it, the cake is done.
